Day 14 - Icthyosaur Dig (bonus)

Emily was invited to go on am Icthyosaur dig about 40 miles south of Casper. JP, Zabde and a few other volunteers from the museum went including a man named fluffy. They uncovered the ocean reptile last year and this is the first trip this year. It was found by a geology professor and his students. Bones were not in good condition and were imbedded in hard matrix.

Elevation of the access road was over 5200 feet above seal level. Had to climb about 200-300 feet up a rocky, steep hill where only mountain goats could climb. Site was about 3/4 the way up the hill.
