Went to visitor center that told the story of the Oregon Trail, Pony Express, California gold rush and Morman Trl to Salt Lake City. All four trails converged in Casper. Earlier in the trip, on our route from Vernal to Casper we stopped at a rest area that was on the South Pass. This was an important route for early settlers. We also read about the pony express. Earlier in the trip we has passed the town where the east and west riders exchanged. The Pony express lasted 19 months and was replaced by the telegraph. The 6 months on the Oregon Trl was replaced by the railroad.
